Meet the Therapist
Sydney Blackwell-Hill
Founder/LMFT-A
Hello! I’m Sydney Blackwell-Hill, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist under the supervision of Dr. Griselda Lloyd, PhD, LMFT. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2021, followed by a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2024.
My journey as a therapist is deeply rooted in a passion for healing and supporting others.
I believe that fostering a strong connection with oneself is essential for uncovering inner strength and intuition.
Life presents us with challenges, and I understand that navigating these ups and downs can truly transform our experience from mere survival to thriving. Through my own healing journey, I have cultivated qualities such as tolerance, empathy, grace, and understanding—traits that I strive to bring into my relationships, my practice, and the lives of my clients.
I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of life, reconnect with their intuition, and uncover their inherent strengths. I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma and are seeking to restore balance in their lives. I utilize Narrative Therapy, EMDR, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to address a variety of issues that relate relational trauma. My training equips me to effectively support children, couples, and families, ensuring that I can meet each client's unique needs.
In therapy, I prioritize authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. I employ research-based treatment interventions while infusing my personal touch, tailoring my approach to fit each individual I work with. Together, we can navigate your journey toward healing and growth. I look forward to the possibility of working with you!
Our Values
Empowerment through Connection
We believe in helping individuals connect with their intuition and inner strength, enabling them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.
Compassionate Healing
We provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals, children, couples, and families can confront their trauma and emotional struggles with kindness and empathy.
Human-Centered Approach
We recognize that the human experience is complex and unique for each individual. We prioritize authenticity to cultivate a welcoming environment, ensuring you feel seen and understood as a person first, facilitating open communication and genuine healing.
Holistic Growth
We are committed to promoting the development of healthy boundaries and effective communication skills, recognizing these as foundational elements for a fulfilling and balanced life.
Inclusivity and Respect
We honor the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our clients, ensuring that every individual and family feels seen, validated, and respected throughout their therapeutic journey.
Interpersonal Conflict
Interpersonal conflict involves tensions or misunderstandings between individuals, often shaped by differing needs or expectations. When linked to relational trauma, past hurts or betrayals can amplify these conflicts, making it hard to communicate or trust.
In therapy, exploring these conflicts can help individuals understand how their experiences affect their relationships. With support, they can learn healthier communication skills, paving the way for stronger, more positive connections with others.
Intrapersonal Conflict
Intrapersonal conflict refers to the inner turmoil and mixed feelings we experience within ourselves. When it comes to relational trauma, this conflict often stems from painful past experiences in relationships, such as betrayal or abandonment.
People often feel pulled between wanting closeness and fearing intimacy, which can lead to confusion and self-doubt. In therapy, exploring these inner conflicts helps individuals understand how past experiences shape their current relationships. With support, they can navigate these feelings, fostering greater self-awareness and emotional resilience, ultimately paving the way for healthier and more fulfilling connections.
Conflict within Family
Family conflict involves a range of disagreements that can impact multiple members, often stemming from differing values, roles, or shared trauma. When relational trauma is present, it can lead to patterns of blame, guilt, or avoidance, creating emotional strain. Families may respond by withdrawing or becoming hostile, making it harder to connect. In therapy, we focus on understanding and healing these wounds, enhancing communication, and rebuilding trust. This process fosters a supportive and harmonious family dynamic, allowing members to connect more deeply and nurture one another.
Attachment issues
Attachment wounds often stem from early experiences with inconsistent or unresponsive caregivers, leading to difficulties in forming healthy emotional bonds with others. This can manifest as fear of intimacy, avoidance of emotional closeness, or struggles with trusting others.
In therapy, we focus on creating a safe, supportive space to explore these early wounds and their impact on current relationships. By understanding and addressing these attachment challenges, individuals can begin to heal and develop healthier, more fulfilling connections with others.

Black History Month Webinar: Empowerment Through Education: Mental Health Advocacy in the Black Community
Tune in for an engaging and enlightening discussion aimed at reducing stigma, addressing the impacts of historical trauma and systemic racism, and improving access to culturally competent care.
We know that mental health is often a taboo topic, and in many communities, including ours, stigma can prevent individuals from seeking the help they need. This webinar provided a safe space where we openly discussed mental health, empowered each other through education, and promoted self-care practices to enhance our holistic well-being.
